SCALLOPS WRAPPED IN BACON

½ pound fresh sea scallops (1 to 1 inch across) (10-
16 in number)

½ pound raw bacon (very lean center cut)
•
toothpicks soaked in water for 30 minutes
•
½ cup of wine or lemon juice
•
favorite rub
Marinate scallops for 30 minutes or so in wine or lemon juice with water. Take a piece of bacon and wrap around the scallop securing in place with a toothpick. If bacon is very long, one-half piece may be used. Coat the exposed ends of the scallops with a favorite rub. Cook over a drip pan on a seafood grill for 30 minutes at 375 degrees.Turn halfway through. Serve alone or with a favorite cocktail sauce.
